Wedding Trends 2011 [Part 1: Entertainment]
I had the EPIC opportunity to be the entertainment chair for the 2011 NACE Wedding Trends event. There is nothing like the pressure of providing all things entertainment to the finest event professionals who throw parties for a living to get your blood boiling.
Let’s talk about some highlights::
Period actors provided by Judy Frow ShowBiz added the right amount of atmosphere to welcome the guest to the 1940s Air Terminal Museum while Tianna Hall serenade the guests for the first hour. Rockin’ Robin opened the reception with a customized song written by yours truly to the tune of Frank Sinatra’s I Get No Kick From Champagne. Richard Brown Orchestra easily kept the dance floor full all night, while beautiful models showed the latest trends in dress provided by Ivory Bridal Atelier. The boys were quite dapper as well. MillionAir stopped by, delivering our mock bride and groom to their mock wedding reception. It really got interesting when an suspended cake was lowered for the traditional cake cutting with a champagne chandelier as the focal point of the room. Nothing like a fabulous stilt walker and an aerial bartender pouring the bubbly. All in a days work.
It was indeed a good time.
