Mariana + Major: Sam Houston Hotel Modern Wedding
Clover green and white is what made our couple Mariana and Major happy. Add in some splashes of aubergine purple accents with sleek lines created the birth of this Sam Houston Hotel modern wedding. A playground filled with calla lilies, dendrobium orchids, seeded eucalyptus with accents of floating candles provided a breathtaking room of elegance. With a passion for food, the menu was inspired to highlight flavors and textures that would become an essential part of the incredible dinning experience that was expertly crafted and carried out by The Sam Houston Hotel’s Chef Eduardo. The five-course menu highlights included an amazing roasted red pepper and lemon risotto croquettes and mouth-watering kalamata olive braised short ribs. From the first bite to the show-stopping dessert display, taste, quality, and presentation was everything. If the menu wasn’t enough to knock your socks off, the entertainment was sure to get your heels kicking. Ceremony music by the very talented Mariachi Imperial performed a custom piece of The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields as the wedding party procession. Now, that is something that you don’t get to witness at a wedding very often. The reception was planned to be a progressive dinning experience focused on great food and conversation rather than dancing the night away. Not being big dancers themselves, they felt an evening conversing among friends was much more relaxing. Little did they know that there was a talented group of musicians out there called The Stringbenders who would get their toes tapping. Guess you could say that they all danced the night away. The groom’s remarks made during his welcome speech gives clarity to the emotion felt in the room, “So today we have all graciously come together as witnesses and participants to help us take notice as we wake up and declare ourselves, and express profound thanks and joy for the life we share with one another and with you all.” Kat Creech Events: event planning and design; Delphine Press: stationery; Grizzaffi Coffee: gourmet coffee bar, Khloe Madison Photography: photography; LG Entertainment: lighting; Mariachi Imperial: ceremony music; Over The Top: linen; Plants N Petals: floral; The Sam Houston Hotel: venue; The Stringbenders: reception music; Swift & Co: rentals; Who Made The Cake: cake; Whittington Bridal: wedding dress; Your Beautiful Face: hair and makeup
