Weddings in Houston Magazine Painter’s Palette
This eclectic painter’s palette editor style shoot was where watercolor hues met whimsical blooms in a dreamscape of bridal bliss. The award winning luxury Weddings in Houston Magazine presented our team an opportunity to showcase another inspiration style shoot, which graced the pages of the 2016 summer edition. This couture editorial style shoot was designed to impress. The rich luxury of the elements were so captivating. The custom linen with a hand-sewn border was an incredible foundation for the playful place settings and hand painted napkins. The one of a kind place setting, accented with water color place cards and confections is the perfect welcome to the table design. The drama continues as your eye moves upward to a floral candelabra of romantic design. It was a lampshade composed of blue hydrangea, parrot tulips, field tulips, purple Japanese sweetpeas (yum), coral charm peonies, volkenfrieden delphinium, and green cymbidium orchids. It is here where you will see the consistency of these floral selections carried throughout the entire style shoot and truly bring together the watercolor bridal euphoria. As the stylist we brought together our creative partners for this editorial style shoot. The mission was simple, we wanted to create an inspirational six-page magazine spread that was influential and represented the love of art through brilliant watercolors. This design wouldn’t resemble anything pastel or soft watercolor. No, that has been designed time and time again. This was to be edgier, crisper, and more refined. We wanted to make you stop as you turn the pages and take a second look. We wanted an awe-inspiring moment, look a little closer, and really exam every detail. It was to be sexy and elegant. It was to be iconic. One of the central inspirations was found in the parrot tulip, a gradinated and a cultivated tulip. This variety that has irregularly fringed or wavy petals, typically of two colors. Hundreds of varietals exist and it seems no two or every the same. It was this flower that finally gave birth to the vision that was in my head and became the basis of everything we designed. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as we did, and we hope that this painter’s palette of a water color masterpiece steals your heart. design + styling: kat creech events | photography + cinema trophy: ama photography + cinema | linens + rentals: eb, inc event rentals | dinnerware, stemware, barware, + stationary: bering’s | floral, votives, + lounge: dream bouquet | lighting production + special effects: bright star productions | paper floral backdrop: balushka paper floral artistry | bridal salon: ivory atelier | gown: lazaro | makeup + hair: l’atelier de artonit | cake: who made the cake | accessories + shoes: tess harris designs | venue: citadel on kirby
