Leah + Carlos: Ivory and Gold Wedding at The Corinthian

Leah and Carlos’s ivory and gold wedding at The Corinthian was a romantic fairytale setting highlighting a traditional design with monochromatic ivories and whites featuring hints of blush. Suspended floral and chandeliers, along with a 6’ tall decadent cake were the focal points of the space, but the details were found table side. Gold rimmed chargers and flatware, a stationary suite to swoon over, and monochromatic floral for as far as the eye could see brought this romantic space to life. To finish the look, an astounding swirled and damask GOBO pattern carpeted the floor.

This majestic venue was the perfect playground for an elegant affair. Upon entering the space at street level, the stairs leading up were adorned with gold and crystal candle pillars. On the landing, 16’ crystal curtain walls welcomed you for an awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping environment. The crystal curtains made their inaugural debut and boy were they stunning.  If that was not enough, a gold-gilded champagne diva offered you a glass of the finest champagne.

Ten royal tables were nestled between the columns, each adorned with their own crystal Tiffany chandelier and sodt ivory chiffon linen draping down the length of the columns on either side. Two 24’ royal tables flanked the dance floor area and they were truly fit for a king and queen. The 24- carat gold damask linen with ivory accents was stunning in its own right.  The centerpieces included a collection of crystal vases filled with orchids, hydrangea, white lisianthus, gardenias, white polar star, and spray roses. To complete the look, various vessels with candle accents brought together the romantic and warm look.  Each place setting featured round menu cards, placed under the charger, ecru linen hemstitch napkins, accented with a blush ribbon, and a place card, which matched the stationary.  Simply stunning.

To highlight the dance floor of this ivory and gold wedding at The Corinthian, a 12×12 fresh floral structure with hanging votive was flown in the air. The floral complimented the centerpieces selected while the clear globes hanging effortlessly in the air gave a nod to the the tiffany chandeliers and crystal vases. Underneath the masterpiece, was another work of art reaching over 6’ high and was be none other than the 10-tier wedding cake. This cake had ivory matte finished tiers with handpainted metallic gold vines and leaves, with delicate floral accents in sugar paste and hand painted varieties. The tier dividers were covered with appliqués and embossed lace detail in champagne and metallic gold washed details. Cascading from the top to the base were sugar paste tulips, irises, orchids, and hydrangea accents in ivory and blush tones with handprinted gold edges. The base was a stunning full floral sugar paste of flowers cascading onto the mirrored box, which all rested on a 60” table adorned with the 24-caret gold damask linen. For a little glitz, we created a peekaboo effect with a gold sequin linen. The fairytale ending to this story is that the cake was featured on the Food Network’s Most Outrageous Wedding Cake 2 episode, which aired June 14. The couple had a dramatic unveiling shortly before the reception began.
