David Tutera Your Wedding Experience Houston Wedding Show

David Tutera Your Wedding Experience Houston Wedding Show kicked off its inaugural event and it was a resounding success.  The handpicked vendors brought together the latest ideas and trends for the couples, and boy were they inspiring. The show offered the latest inspiration on event tips and trends.  Harold Kelly of Melange Events and Catering asked our studio to design a 20×20 booth space with the mission of being true to their brand and styled to perfection.  I passionately support Melange Events as their brand and ours align closely. I was overjoyed with the opportunity to create an atmosphere to inspire couples to do great culinary things at their wedding celebration.

Butcher shops are trending so I thought it would be fun to play with this concept within the space with a pastry counter filled with a little something sweet. Can we just talk about the cupcakes with the old fashion cocktail pipette!  A little tongue and cheek fun was added with the “take a number” concept so upon entering the booth you could visit without having to stand in line.  It was all quite fun. The design was kicked off with an industrial truss, glass globes filled with metallic confetti, and a blue-grey pallet backdrop, perfect to showcase Melange’s mission statements.  The white dance floor allowed for the design elements of the lounge and table design to pop. A very clean and crisp feeling, stylized with all the little details in mind, which make all the difference in the world. Edison bulbs are a must in any butcher shop environment so a few hundred should do the trick.

As we move into the fall, we celebrated eucalyptus leaves, berries and moss for the centerpieces.   The table design started with a whimsical pattern with a bold statement to showcase the geometric patterns of the place settings. The art deco silverware might just the best thing since sliced bread and I am in love with the double napkin fold and broach accent.  Opposite of the inspiration table, the lounge debuted an art deco sofa along with three towering princess vases filled with greenery. It is true that anything with a Danish Modern design makes my toes tingle and those ottomans and coffee table concept might just be coming home with me.

And you know what else, everyone should have a suspended acrylic DJ console at their next event along with the great guy who spins the best tunes.

All in all, we are hoping to have inspired all of the couples to not only have a great wedding stylist design their day but to have some of the best culinary food styled to perfection.
